Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the 10th anniversary of “Tap Siac Craft Market” will be held from 13 to 15 April and from 20 to 22 April, at Tap Siac Square, featuring thirty-nine handicrafts workshops. The fee for each handicrafts workshop is MOP50. All interested parties can register for the workshops from today through “Activity Registration System” on IC’s website. Deadline for registration is Wednesday, 11 April, at 5:45pm.

Marking its 10th anniversary, the “Tap Siac Craft Market” will feature a total of 220 stalls, allowing local and overseas cultural and creative entities to showcase and sell their original brands and products. Stall registrations are now open and all interested parties are welcome to register. Applicants from Macao, Malaysia and Singapore are welcome to register until Tuesday, 13 March, at 5:45pm. 2018 Macao Cultural and Creative Map invites entities to register for inclusion in the map

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) is launching the 2018 edition of the Macao Cultural and Creative Map (CCM Map) in paper and its mobile app in order to promote Macao’s cultural and creative industries close by residents and tourists, thereby enhancing the reputation of Macao’s cultural and creative spaces. IC will select cultural and creative spaces from the Database for Cultural and Creative Industries (hereinafter referred to as “Database”) to be included in the CCM Map; any entities that have not yet registered in the Database are welcome to apply for inclusion before Friday, 23 February, at 5:30pm.

On the occasion of 10th anniversary of the “Tap Siac Craft Market”, IC launches the “10th Anniversary Programme” to celebrate with local residents and is now calling for proposals of a series of programmes, including the following categories: “interactive art installations”, “stage performance” and “creative handicraft workshops”. “Macao Light Festival 2017 – AMOR MACAU” was splendidly unveiled at the Ruins of St. Paul’s tonight (3rd December) as an event organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and co-organized by Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Cultural Affairs Bureau and Sports Bureau, as well as shaped by the collective artistry of over a hundred local transmedia creators. Under the theme “Wish-Making under the Stars”, the opening ceremony features dance performance choreographed and performed by a local dance troupe. The opening kicked off an array of projection mapping shows, light installations and interactive games at eight local attractions, taking visitors and residents onto a dazzling journey in search of love and dreams.
Cultural Industries Statistics 2016

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 1,913 organisations were operating in the four core domains of cultural industries in Macao in 2016, namely 'Creative design', 'Cultural exhibitions & performances', 'Art collection' and 'Digital media', representing an increase of 200 year-on-year. Number of persons engaged rose by 7.7% to 11,003, and Compensation of Employees went up by 9.3% to MOP 1.71 billion. Total Service Receipts of the cultural industries grew by 9.7% year-on-year to MOP 6.86 billion. Gross Value Added that measures the sectoral contribution to the economy increased by 8.5% to MOP 2.24 billion, accounting for 0.6% of total Gross Value Added of all economic activities of Macao in 2016, the same proportion as in 2015. Gross Fixed Capital Formation of the cultural industries amounted to MOP 0.47 billion, down by 50.7%.
