64 Cities Join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network - Macao is in!

64 cities from 44 countries have been designated as UNESCO Creative Cities by Director-General, Irina Bokova. They join a Network at the frontline of UNESCO’s efforts to foster innovation and creativity as key drivers for a more sustainable and inclusive urban development. This network attracts growing interest from local authorities.

New edition of the Macao Cultural and Creative Map is launched today

The Cultural Affairs Bureau has released today a new edition of the Macao Cultural and Creative Map (CCM Map) aimed at introducing 56 local cultural and creative entities as well as information about Macao’s World Heritage sites, museums, performance venues, among others. The traditional Chinese and English versions are released first, followed by the simplified Chinese and Portuguese versions. The CCM Map will be distributed at 180 locations in Hong Kong and Macao.

“Electric Power System Maintenance” at the Anim’Arte NAM VAN commences in late October

Anim’Arte NAM VAN, located at the Nam Van Lake Square, Avenida Panorâmica do Lago Nam Van, has been open to the public since June 2016, featuring a café, pedal boats, cultural and creative shops, weekend craft market, exhibitions and performances, among others. It aims to provide the public with a multicultural experience and tourism and leisure facilities in order to enhance the cultural ambience of the city. Since its opening, the project has attracted numerous participants from the cultural and creative entities and the catering industry to set up shops there. In order to improve the electricity supply for the operators, the “Electric Power System Maintenance” commences from 23 October (Monday) to 15 November (Wednesday) at the Anim’Arte NAM VAN.

Jointly managed by the Macao Government Tourism Office, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the Sports Bureau, and the Institute for Tourism Studies, under the governance of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao S.A.R. Government, Anim’Arte NAM VAN’s “Graffiti Display Area” will be redecorated by local art group GANTZ 5 starting from 1 July (Saturday) under a new theme, “Midsummer”.
