Database for Cultural and Creative Industries

Since August 2010, the Cultural Affairs Bureau has been building the “Database for Cultural and Creative Industries”, known in short as the “DBCCI”.

Database was created with the following objectives:

  • To collate information pertaining to the cultural and creative industries from the public and private sectors, manufacturing, the legal sector, units handling intellectual property matters, legal consultancies, local individuals working in cultural and creative industries and long-term foreign residents working in cultural and creative industries;
  • To gain knowledge of market information in relation to companies, associations and individuals working within the scope of Macao’s cultural and creative industries, such as visual arts, design, performing arts, fashion, publishing, popular music, film, video,animation and comics, etc.;
  • To strengthen communication between the government and the cultural and creative sectors in order to provide the necessary assistance towards developing all areas of the cultural and creative industries in Macao;
  • To jointly create cultural and creative industries with special local characteristics, to promote cooperation and demonstrate the role of Macao’s cultural and creative aptitude;
  • To improve Macao’s industrial cooperation and communication with foreign interests in the cultural and creative sectors;
  • To combine the development of cultural and creative industries with a grasp on cultural and creative networking dynamics and preparation of the necessary market data to undertake comprehensive and industrial-base market research and expansion;
  • To actively promote business matching, to contribute towards cross-disciplinary research and development, to create opportunities for marketing cooperation and exchange, and to expand industrial chains;
  • To formulate and create a reference for policies, plans and measures.

Since its creation, the database has already collated information from many units, organisations, associations and individuals working in the cultural and creative areas in Macao’s public and private sectors. As more cultural and creative activities are being organised between Macao and foreign entities, the Database for Cultural and Creative Industries and the Macao Cultural and Creative Industries Website are actively playing their parts in promoting further exchange of information, encouraging cooperation and developing the role of Macao’s cultural and creative aptitude.

By logging on to the database, you can enjoy the following services:

  • Free use of the Macao Cultural and Creative Industries Website as a promotional platform;
  • Participate in cultural and creative series activities organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau;
  • The opportunity to be showcased in the cultural and creative industrial space hosted by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and to represent Macao in cultural and creative exhibition activities in Macao and overseas.
