Beneficiaries of the 5th Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Song Albums Announced

The second review for the 5th Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Song Albums, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, has been concluded recently, and the adjudicating panel has selected three beneficiaries under the Album category and six beneficiaries under the Mini-album category. The Cultural Affairs Bureau will provide each beneficiary with the amount of subsidy required for his or her album. Each beneficiary under these categories will be granted a subsidy of up to MOP270,000 and MOP135,000 respectively, while receiving professional advice for song album production.

Launched in 2014, the Programme aims to cultivate music talents in Macao, boost the development of the local music industry, support the production and promotion of original song albums, encourage musicians to produce and release more outstanding works, and lay the groundwork for market development. A total of 55 eligible applications were received this year, and three beneficiaries under the Album category and six beneficiaries under the Mini-album category were selected. The list is as follows (in arbitrary order): under the Album category are Chang Heng Ian, Leong Chi Long, Pang Weng Sam; under the Mini-album category are Choi Kuok Chu, Deng Wan Pin, Chan Wai Man, Jay Peterson Cuevas Elma, Lio Ka U, Lo Ka Man.

The adjudicating panel was composed by celebrated professionals from Hong Kong, including music producer Edward Chan, lyricist Chow Yiu Fai, music supervisor and composer Ronald Ng, music producer Kelvin Ngai, and Vice-Director of the Artists and Production Department of the Emperor Entertainment Group, Liu Chi Wah.
