The WFF Youth Film Festival showcases the power of visual and narrative storytelling to address complex agrifood system challenges and promote sustainable development. This global competition invites young filmmakers to use film as a tool to explore challenges in agrifood systems, such as climate change, sustainability and innovation, while highlighting diverse perspectives, untold stories and elements of intangible cultural heritage. By showcasing their work at the World Food Forum flagship event, the festival amplifies youth voices, sparks critical dialogue, and drives meaningful change across agrifood systems and beyond.
The WFF Youth Film Festival 2026 is now open for submissions, inviting young filmmakers to submit their short films aligned with current priorities and emerging solutions across agrifood systems. The 2026 edition focuses on key themes including food heritage, climate, women in agrifood systems, innovation, oceans and health, wellbeing and nutrition.
Submissions are open on FilmFreeway until 14 July. Selected films will be showcased at the WFF flagship event, connecting filmmakers with global audiences and key stakeholders, thereby inspiring action and contributing to more sustainable and inclusive agrifood systems.
