List of the winners of the Film Scriptwriting Advanced Programme is announced

The adjudicating panel of the “2021 Scripts in Focus — Film Scriptwriting Advanced Programme”, jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) of the Macao SAR Government, the Film Administration of Guangdong Province and Create Hong Kong, has recently completed the review process of the six film projects from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and selected two winning projects for the “Excellent Script Award”, namely My Driver Father and Me by Niko Ho (from Macao) and Silent Few by Li Jing (from Guangdong), each of which received a prize of MOP60,000.

Documentary “Interpretation of Images” on Macao’s screening industry screened in the Golden Kapok Screening

Produced by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and directed by Lao Keng U, the documentary “Interpretation of Images” on Macao’s screening industry, participated in the 2021 Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival, China (GZDOC) and was screened in cinemas in Guangzhou and Shenzhen as the main documentary feature of the 8th Golden Kapok Screening, depicting the history of Macao’s cinemas and screening industry over the past century.

New murals enrich the scenery of local streets and alleys

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) has joined hands with various local artists to create a number of murals that feature the stories of the communities’ origins in different neighbourhoods, combining cultural creativity with art, enriching and invigorating the scenery of local streets and alleys. The murals will be on display at Rua de Tomás da Rosa and Anim’Arte NAM VAN on the Macao peninsula and at Escada do Coxo in Taipa to enhance the artistic and cultural atmosphere of the neighbourhoods.

Cultural Affairs Bureau announces the list of selected candidates of the “9th Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making”

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) has recently completed the review process of the “9th Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making”. Eight candidates have been selected and they are (in arbitrary order): Siu David, Wong Man I, Lei Wai Cheng, Tang Si Weng, Lai Ka Pou, Kan Ka Kei, Leng Carmen and Vong Si Weng. The IC will provide each of the selected candidates with a grant of up to MOP170,000 for the production and promotion of the respective fashion design samples.

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the “Tap Siac Craft Market” will be held from 19 to 21 November and from 26 to 28 November at Tap Siac Square., counting with a total of 36 creative handicraft workshops, including 9 sessions for families. All interested parties can register for the workshops through the Tap Siac Craft Market website (www.craftmarket.gov.mo) from 4 November. The deadline for online registration is 5pm on 8 November. The fee for each handicraft workshop is MOP50.

Applications for the “6th Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Song Albums” of the Cultural Affairs Bureau open from 16 August

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) is accepting applications for the “6th Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Song Albums” from 16 August until 30 September. This year’s Programme comprises two categories: the album category and the mini album category, with each selected album being granted a subsidy of up to MOP270,000 and MOP135,000 respectively, as well as professional advice from members of the jury.
