Applications for the “6th Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Song Albums” of the Cultural Affairs Bureau open from 16 August

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) is accepting applications for the “6th Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Song Albums” from 16 August until 30 September. This year’s Programme comprises two categories: the album category and the mini album category, with each selected album being granted a subsidy of up to MOP270,000 and MOP135,000 respectively, as well as professional advice from members of the jury.

“THE SHADOW OF KATANA•GUNS•SWORDS-Martial Arts, Samurai and Western Film Festival”

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), “THE SHADOW OF KATANA•GUNS•SWORDS—Martial Arts, Samurai and Western Film Festival” will be held from 6 August to 18 September. The opening ceremony of the Festival will be held on 31 July in the movie hall at Block R teaching complex of the Macau University of Science and Technology, during which a classical martial arts film entitled A Touch of Zen will be screened.

Registration for creative handicraft workshops of the “Tap Siac Craft Market” in spring is now open

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the “Tap Siac Craft Market” will be held from 16 to 18 April and from 23 to 25 April at Tap Siac Square, featuring various creative handicraft workshops. The fee for each handicraft workshop is MOP50. All interested parties can register for the workshops through the Tap Siac Craft Market website from 26 March.

Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao jointly launch film scriptwriting advanced programme aimed at cultivating local film talents

Applications for the “2021 Scripts in Focus—Film Scriptwriting Advanced Programme”, jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) of the Macao SAR Government, the Film Administration of Guangdong Province and the Create Hong Kong, are now open until 20 April. All local filmmakers are welcome to join. Shortlisted projects will receive guidance from professional directors and scriptwriters, and winning projects will be awarded a prize.

Cultural Affairs Bureau announces list of selected candidates of the 8th Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making

In order to continue to promote the development of the fashion design industry in Macao, the Cultural Affairs Bureau has launched the “8th Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making”. The review process has been completed, and eight candidates have been selected. The Cultural Affairs Bureau will provide each of the selected candidates with a grant of up to MOP170,000 for the production and promotion of the respective fashion design samples.
